Welcome to the Counselor's Corner!

Hello and thank you for visiting my website! My name is Renee Winner and I am the school counselor at Eastview Elementary School.

"Elementary school years set the tone for developing the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for children to become healthy, competent, and confident learners. Through a comprehensive developmental school counseling program, elementary school counselors work as a team with the school staff, parents, and the community to create a caring climate and atmosphere. By providing education, prevention, early identification, and intervention, elementary school counselors can help all children reach academic success."
-American School Counselor Association

*Provides classroom guidance for every class.
*Helps in identifying academic and social/emotional needs of children.
*Helps children understand themselves and others.
*Provides information about community resources that would benefit children.
*Makes referrals to outside agencies.
*Provides parents with resources and information.

Eastview Elementary is a character-based school where students not only learn the academic skills needed to succeed, but also the life skills needed to become a successful adult. Easview's counseling program offers that outlet for students to learn about themselves and others through guidance education lessons, small group counseling, and individual counseling. I also work collaboratively with parents and teachers to further assist in the student's academic, personal, and career development. I am very excited to meet all of our wonderful students and work with their families throughout the school year!

Please contact me if you have any concerns regarding your child or if you have any questions about the counseling program. I will be updating this website throughout the school year.
